Volsnap and then event id 153
« on: April 30, 2013, 07:19:42 AM »
Wondering if anyone else has this happen to them.

I am using windows 2012 with altaro backing up my Hyper-V servers.

When I look in the event log I get event ID 64 volsnap Volume\\?\volume{xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx} is being reverted to the state of a previous shadow copy. (info)

Then event ID 66 volsnap The reverting of volume\\?\volume{xxxxxxxxxxx} to the state of a previous shadow copy is complete (info)

Then event 153 The IO operation at logical block address xxx for Disk X was retired (warning)
Then event 153 The IO operation at logical block address xxxxxxx for Disk x was retired (warning)

I get this each time it does its backup.

Anyone else using 2012 hyper-v server and getting this in your event logs.
I have 2 servers same error.

I also use HyperV 2012 server, and these events occur too. However everything does work ok. I think the disk "errors" occur when the USB disk wakes up.
